My Fat is Just Walking Away! Adipose Baby Alien Plush (Doctor Who)

Now that summer is coming I was in need of a bikini body and fast! I found some amazing diet pills that work amazingly- the fat just walks away! But now my house is infested with millions of these little guys! Uh-oh...
Okay, so Amy has been trying to get me to watch Doctor Who for a very long time now. I kept resisting, an then I put it off, and so forth. Then, one night while channel scanning VERY late, I stopped on a channel randomly, right when a little Adipose Alien baby was pulled out of a desk drawer. Upon realizing it was Dr. Who, I ate my words and realized the show was awesome and I am now hooked. I had been wanting to make one of these from the moment saw it and finally did tonight.
Butt crack!:
I used eye shadows for to give it some coloring and definition.
And for a reference for those who have not seen what an adipose baby alien is:

Hedwig Now Delivers My Mail

. A lot. The theme tends to creep up in my creations a lot.

I just started a side photography project and my biggest focus is themed photography for children and seniors. I have done the Princess and the Frog, a Flapper, Alice in Wonderland, and now I am gearing up to do a Harry Potter themed shoot with two little boys at our local train station. I decided to make a good majority of my sets all handmade stuff by me too, just for the fun and challenge of it. Sooooo of course, I made a Platform 9 3/4's sign, I have several wands drying outside, some capes in the process of being sewn, and some other things. And I just finished this! A Hedwig plush!

I plan to put him in a cage, sitting on top of a "trolley" (a little wire cart I bought at a secondhand store) along with suitcases and a mini trunk. I have a bunch of other props too, like a Maurauder's Map, candelabras, HP scarves, and more birdcages. It should be fun!
I really love him, and hope you guys get some enjoyment out of him too!:D

Polyvore Obsession

Okay, a few weeks ago, I heard somebody mention polyvore.com and I thought I would check it out today. Hours later, I had made TONS of boards and realized I was obsessed.

Basically, it is a site that allows you to make fashion inspiration boards. You can browse their collection (which has pretty much everything you can imagine) or you can add your images found from the internet.

Now that we finally have warm weather, I find myself yearning for new clothes for the new warm weather but I have a big problem. I am poor. Really poor. Also, it might just be me, but I am not digging the trends this year.

So what's a girl to do? I went to Joann's today and loaded up on ribbons, trims, lace, buttons and other things in that realm, and I have been spending this weekend revamping my dresses, flats and tanks. I have been making fabric rosettes and flowers, adding lace trims and buttons to hem lines, ribbons and scarves to waistlines...you name it! I spent today finding items remarkably similar  (or exactly the same in some cases) to my own clothing pieces and then paired them all together into complete outfits.

I also added small accessories that I can afford to buy that totally dressed something up, and I used took clothing similar to pieces I own and used them as inspiration for what to add to my plain clothes.  They are simple, small changes, but trust me, you would be surprised how much a subtle lace trim on the hem of a dress can make, or a few flower rosettes sewn on to a plain cardigan. It is giving my clothes a whole new life and costing me hardly anything!

This helped me see my wardrobe and separate pieces in a whole new light. I put things together in ways I have never done before. I went on the internet and took inspiration from my favorite characters, actors, and movies and I couldn't believe how inspirational the simplest things could be in making an outfit.

So, my point here is, if you like fashion, clothing, trends or if you like putting together outfits check it out! It is so much fun and can really be helpful!

This is one of my favorite outfits I put together today, both on the boards and in real life. I took an old pink dress I had, shortened the bottom, added a black lace underskirt/slip, and then used the leftover hem material to make rosettes which I hand-sewed to the top to create a look just like this dress. Just as cute, and cost me nothing since I used stash items. The rest of the pieces I already own. One little doll inspired an outfit I absolutely love. Best of all, it is based on pieces I already have that I would have never thought about in this context without this website! Awesome!

I plan to share my favorite revamps and outfits here regularly for those of you that like fashion! I am documenting the before, (process if there is anything complicated) and after shots of my clothes that I revamp, and I will share my inspiration board for the outfit. (I will do a pic of this outfit when I wear it!)

Knitting Bunny Rabbit

My Mother-in-Law is very sweet and I wanted to make her something for Mother's Day, but was struggling to come up with anything. Finally, I landed on this cute bunny. She knits and crochets, so I made a tiny ball of yarn with needles stuck in it. She loved it so I was happy! :D

Pirate's of the Caribbean Bookends

Hi! As I mentioned, I made more than one gift for my Mom. Like I said, she LOVES to read. After I made the Jack Sparrow dotee doll she really wanted one. (My love for Johnny Depp appears to be hereditary. She loves that man, too.)

Sooooo, what do you get with that? Pirate's of the Caribbean bookends, of course!!

She loved them, too, and I love my Mom. <3

10 Points to Mothers Everywhere!

Happy Mother's Day!! (Belated)

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday, whether you are a mother, daughter, both or anything in between! I made a few things to celebrate the love I have for my Mom and mother-in-law. But I will start out with this first.

My mom LOVES Harry Potter. I mean, LOOOOOOVVVEES! She is a children's librarian and reads more than anybody I know. We're talking several books in one week. I have always wanted to make her a HP plush, so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity.
The cage, owl, and snitch were thrift store finds and the wand was a gift to her from me. I brought it back from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! How fitting, right? Looks good with the plush, I think! My mom loved it so I am totally thrilled.

I hope you all had wonderful days, as well! What did you get or do for your mom today? Or mothers, what did you receive today? I hope it was a lot of love at the very least! :)

If I Were King of the Forest!! The Cowardly Lion Plush

I was lucky enough to be partnered up with Saint Angel in the latest Tiny Stuffie Round and I was so thrilled. She received today, so I am safe to post what I made her. She likes Wizard of Oz...a lot! She has been in all the rounds of this swap and is trying to make an entire collection of Wizard of Oz characters. I wanted to add to it, so I made her the Cowardly Lion. :)
