Matisyahu's New Official Tour Bus Mascot! I.E, a Tiny Plush I made for Him!

So as many of you know, I draw a lot of my inspiration from people and things I love. Well, one of my favorite singers ever is Matiyahu. I find him to be incredibly inspirational and especially uplifting. Whenever I am feeling down, I always turn to his music and he brings me right out of my funk with his positive and moving lyrics.

My husband and I have been lucky enough to see him every summer for the past few years, but this year I knew I wanted to give him a gift. I knew it had to be small so I could carry it into the concert and so that it wouldn't be a pain for him to have to take, so I knew I had to make one of my tiny plushes for him. I turned to one of my favorite videos of him and voila! Matisyahu in "One Day."
It is just over 3 inches- you can see how big he is in this silly picture I took before leaving for the concert. for size reference:
uckily, Matis is such an amazing person he did a free show before the actual concert at a store downtown so my husband and I got there early to get right in front. At the end of the show I was able to walk right up and hand it to him! He thanked me, held it up to show the crowd, and announced that it was going on the front of his tour bus to everybody!
You can actually see me giving it him at the end of this video and barely hear him making his announcement!

It was an amazing night! The free show was brilliant, the concert was a blast, and meeting one of my heroes up close and personal and having him thank me for my art and show everyone was an experience I will never forget!

Nightengale mentioned that I should have included my info on the plush- not only was there a card tucked in the jacket of mini-Matis, I also gave out cards to people who wanted one and made a few sales and contacts! And I shared the plush on his facebook. :)

Edbert, the Zombie Penguin

So, you probably all remember my zombie penguin that Amy made me, right? I named him Philbert and I love him so much! But he was lonely, so I made him a friend last night. This is Edbert.

Edbert and Philbert are the best of friends now.
They met on Crafster.org and realized they had a ton in common, becoming close friends. The like to trade hand-made gifts and chat on facebook. Philbert crochets and knits, while Edbert sews and draws. They are kind of awesome.

Zombie Panda!

My best friends Tara loves Zombies and Pandas. So naturally, I combined the two! This is all handsewn and about 3 inches tall. :)

Purple Nessie Plush!

My best friend requested a Nessie when I first made them, but she wanted purple with green spots. Finally, I got it done and to her this week. :) I hope she likes it- she is at work, so she will open it tonight.

Smudge = Evil

My brother has a cat. It is a white cat. It is a white cat with a little gray smudge on the top of his head. Most people think a white, fluffy big cat will be nice and friendly.

Not the case. Smudge is the meanest cat there is. He is mean, territorial, doesn't like to be pet or touched. My brother moved to Portland after my wedding and left Evil Smudge with my parents. I always tell Chad I am going to mail that darn cat back to him because he is mean and miserable.

Well, I did it. Smudge is now in Portland living as a cranky old man cat!

Swamp Monster

My brother celebrated his birthday on the 6th of this month, and I finally got his gift to him! He loves green and monsters and so I present to you:

Swamp Monster!!!
I forgot to measure him, but I think he is probably 10-12 inches tall and quite huggable. I had a hard time sending him away! :)

I, Cthulhu, am now in Tiny Steampunk Plushie Form!

I was in the One Tiny Stuffie Swap again, this time with AlmostDawn as my partner. In her survey she said she wanted anything to do with:

"cryptids, sea creatures/monsters, anything a little unusual, steampunk, Neil Gaiman inspired." She also said she loves anything with a top hat and a mustache.

Sooooo...I kind of took that to heart and tried to incorporate all those things and came up with a Steampunk Cthulhu (cryptid/sea creature/monster aspect) and gave him his own book which is his biography, "I, Cthulhu," originally written by Neil Gaiman.
He is only 3 inches tall!
And here he is hanging out with the doctor. Because we all know, if anybody was going to meet up with Chtulhu, it would be the Doctor.
He was hard to part with, but she loved him! So I am pleased!

Doctor Who is Finished

After I made the Doctor I knew he was missing something. Then I realized he totally needed eyebrows! And then I FINALLY made his glasses. I love the end result.
I am in Season 3 of the series, and falling in love with David Tennant more and more with each passing episode. I think he needs to marry me. He and Kevin can share me. I don't mind.
