Hi! Busy, busy here! I have been in a very productive mood and it is awesome. A lot of it, as always, has to wait to be received before I can show it off, but I decided to show one thing off today. I couldn't wait! :D
My best friend from college, (my maid of honor) celebrated her 25th year of life last week! I was a little late on her gift and I actually owe her a few gifts from Holidays past. So she will be receiving a plethora of surprises from me here pretty soon, but I wanted to show off this one early. Her nickname is Panda, or Tara Bear because of her love for the animal (also one of my all-time favorites!). I decided she needed a custom Pooky panda plush.
Here you have it!
Have a wonderful Sunday! See you soon!

Also, you guys have been posting such awesome and amazing comments! THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! I cannot even begin to tell you how much I appreciate it! I wish I could send all of you a yeti package. You all make me feel awesome and inspire me to continue creating.
I am off to bed, but thanks again, and stay tuned for new creations and the next giveaway!
Sometimes in life we just need a little help to get by...something to believe in and to help us regain hope! In Indian culture, Lord Ganesha is known as the remover of obstacles, and bestows upon you wisdom, courage, and confidence to start new enterprises. He removes obstacles and assists people in reaching their goals.
I am in need of some assistance in all these areas, and I also needed some stress-relief, which for me, is always making something. I thought this was a win-win project because sewing relaxes me and the end result would be a good-luck charm in my life endeavors. :D
I had to take one last writing intensive class when I was still in school, and Hinduism Art History was the only class that I could take that would also fulfill my art history minor. I was dreading the class and had zero interest, initially. Low and behold though, I ended up LOVING it and continued the coursez for the rest of my college career and I still study it on my own time to this day. I found Ganesha to be absolutely fascinating and I love all his legends and everything he represents. I truly find him to be good juju, and I have a small Ganesha Altar. Now I just have a really cute Ganesha to cuddle with!
He is loaded with symbolism, and I included quite a bit even though he is very simplified from most traditional images. Here is a breakdown of what I have on him:
I plan to make him a few accessories that go with him that are apart of his iconography:
Ax- To cut off all bonds of attachment
Rope- To pull you nearer to the highest goal
Felt fruit- Prasada offerings
Mouse- Desire; keeping it under control and do not allow it to take you for a ride. It is the vehicle of Ganesha, or i.e. animal ally.
I love finding inspiration in everything and that Hinduism class I was dreading so much turned out to be truly a life-changing experience for me. I wish for everybody to be able to have the same experiences in life with whatever it is they love. <3

Happy Valentine's Day everybody!
I hope you all have a wonderful day, and share it with your loved ones.
And thank you all to used and/or shared my valentines! You guys are awesome!
I am actually celebrating the day on Friday because Kevin has to work every night until then. However, I couldn't wait that long to give him his gift so I gave it to him tonight.
I have an odd dilemma every year when it comes to Valentine's Day. I was always one of the girls who got nothing on Valentine's Day and had to watch all the other girls get tons of attention and showered with pointless gifts. So I grew to hate the holiday, plus it is just silly and pointless...requires you to spend all this money on silly gifts you will forget about next month!
However, I am a bit of a hypocrite...because every year since being with Kevin for the last 5 years, V-Day gifts seem to be the most elaborate gifts I do! I think it is for these two reasons: one, since I actually have a Valentine now I like to go all out, and two, (which I think we can all understand) I will take any excuse to craft something, even a holiday I hate!
So this year I wanted to go all out because it is our first Valentine's Day as a married couple, and also because we spent a good part of December in Florida for out honeymoon and I didn't get to make him a Christmas gift. After thinking for weeks, it finally occured to me at 8:00 last night what I wanted to make. Luckily, I had everything on hand in my studio already and I worked on it from 8:00 last night straight into this afternoon the following day.
He loves Fallout 3...it was one of his most played games this year! Soooo, I just rolled with that. I went online and found labels and screenshots of items from the game, sized them down in photoshop. I then modpodged them to tiny trinkets. I did the same thing with the posters on the cabinet. Everything is directly from the game. The weapons are all from G.I. Joe sets and such toy sets that I "aged" with bronze ink and other inks. There are spearguns, ray guns, grenades and even a chainsaw! Luckily I have been collecting those items for a zombie curio cabinet I am working on for lanikins.
I hope you all have a lovely day!

Okay, my New Year's resolution was to blog almost daily...not doing so well am I? hehe. Sorry about that, guys! Been having some headache issues but I am getting it taken care of and hopefully I will be back to normal soon and can post on a more regular basis.
I haven't completed too much lately, but I have many things started. Lots of belated Christmas gifts, some Valentine goodies, surprises for Amy, and some other fun personal projects are in the works! I hope to complete some this weekend and post them for you all! So far, my only creations have been remakes of plushes, so nothing new to show yet. :(
So until then, enjoy this AMAZING picture of me and my awesome husband on the Expedition Everest in The Animal Kingdom. You can't help but smile every time you look at it, right?
